Barely Alive, Book One

He’s infected. She’s immune. And wanting her may be the thing that finally turns him into a monster.

Paul Ledger joined Dominic’s cult because he wanted to belong.

Now he’s infected with a virus that is slowly destroying his body, sharpening his senses, and leaving him with one overwhelming hunger: raw flesh.

Then Dominic sends him after Heather McCain.

She’s supposed to be a target. Instead, she’s the first person Paul can’t stop protecting.

Heather has no intention of trusting the boy who kidnapped her—especially when he admits he can smell her blood, hear her heartbeat, and may eventually lose the ability to stop himself from biting her. But Paul is also the only person standing between her and the man who created the outbreak.

And Heather may be the only person in the world who can survive the virus.

As Las Vegas collapses and Dominic’s infected recruits spread across the West, Paul has to choose what kind of monster he’s willing to become.

Because every mile north brings Heather closer to safety. And Paul closer to the moment he may no longer be safe for her.

Barely Alive is Book 1 in a YA apocalyptic romance series featuring an infected hero, an immune heroine, forced proximity, survival, slow-burn trust, and a race against a zombie virus that leaves the mind alive long after the body begins to die.
